Nutrition advice
It is never too early or too late to support health and well-being.
Health and well-being are supported through conscious and planned lifestyle choices. Food choices are generally everyday actions that are repeated several times a day. Daily choices form a dietary pattern that either builds or erodes our vitality.
Nutritional choices need to be made both when well and especially when a specific need is identified. Alongside taste preferences and other factors that guide food choice, nutrition should above all meet the body's needs. Nutritional choices that are out of balance with the body's needs will, if they continue, become a burden on the body and impaire health.
The purpose of the Helsingin fysioterapiaklinikka nutritional counselling is to identify and guide key everyday nutritional choices to support health and well-being. In the process, nutritional needs are assessed through the person's situation, digestive system function and diet. At the same time, the process supports nutritional awareness and strengthens health-seeking behaviours.
The focus of nutritional counselling in HFTK can be on supporting the physiotherapeutic process. Nutritional counselling can also be sought when identifying, for example, stress, challenges with states of alertness, digestive/gut disorders or the need for weight management. In addition, nutritional counselling can support the management of lifestyle-related health changes and diseases.
Nutritional councelling at Helsingin fysioterapiaklinikka is available from 01/2024. Nutritional councelling is provided by physiotherapist, nutrition councelor and nutrition therapy student Suvi Kangas. Nutrition counselling at HFTK is a planned and controlled process divided into three sessions. The duration of the process is individual, yet maximum 3-5 months.
Nutritional counselling is a CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) treatment that complements formal healthcare and is based on formal nutritional science, naturopathy and functional medicine.
